Message from The Chair Dear Friends and Colleagues, Welcome to another great year at the Edmonton Section of ASQ Canada. I am honored to be assuming the role of Section Chair this year. Our Past-Chair, Akhilesh Manchanda, led the Section through three successful years characterized by fun, interesting and valuable Section events and activities. The intention of this year’s executive committee is to continue in this tradition: focusing on bringing value to the Membership of the Edmonton Section. We are very fortunate in having a strong section leadership team this year: listed in the table below. We can use an additional volunteer or two to act in a ―Member at Large‖ capacity. If you are interested, please contact me or any member of the executive. Planning and executing events for this year have already begun. We will have a second annual Jeopardy night and swag-fest in November. The team has also begun planning events for the winter of 2010 on the topics of risk management, leadership and continuous improvement methodology. The tour of Norwood Foundry was well received last year, leading us to begin planning for another tour in the late winter / spring. As was the case last year, Deepak will do a great job keeping us informed of dates and times via the newsletter. If you have any suggestions regarding topics for dinner meetings, or facility tours, please contact any member of the section executive.
