Summary of the Edmonton ASQ Section Management Plan
2008 – 2009
Since
August 2008, Edmonton section executive volunteers have participated in one strategic planning sessions.
This Three-hour session consisted of brainstorming, discussion, and plan
formulation for the short and long terms.
Working within the framework of the strategic plan for the national ASQ,
four section objectives have been used:

For each
objective, the executive has identified measurable goals and a set of
activities to achieve success measures within the desired timeline.
The following is a summary of activities planned to be included in the
Strategic Management Plan for 2007 – 2008.
Strategic
Objective 1:
Member Growth
Activities:

Increase
visibility and awareness of section at educational institutions through
developing a contacts list with local colleges and universities by April
2009.

development by developing a list of website opportunities, policies
guiding regular attention to the section website, and development of a
satisfaction measure by December 2008

leadership demonstrated through completion of a business plan, regular
executive meetings, sustainable executive, and a future quality award by
December 2009.

Plan
and resources available by September 2009 to increase the newsletter
frequency from 4 to 6 per year

Programming
delivered with a template for annual section events by June 2009

Expanded
geographical event where an event is delivered outside of the Edmonton

certification through planning an annual program event on this topic and
by providing access to certification information at other events,

executive is always open to suggestions or comments regarding section
activities and initiatives. A
portion of the year-end event in June will be devoted to the section’s
strategic management plan. In the
