Derrick Olesen P. Eng, MBA, SSBB. Derrick has worked in the Oil and Gas Industry since 1982. He has a B. SC. In Mechanical Engineering (U of Manitoba, 1982) and an MBA (U of Alberta,1997). He obtained ASQ Six Sigma Certification in 2003. His experience includes working in the Resources sector in Project Design, Project Execution and Operations. He has worked in the Pipeline and Distribution in Pipeline Development and as a Business Analyst. He has worked in Marketing for Industrial Fuels and Lubricants, has been a Plant Scheduler, an SAP Change Agent, and Supply Team Leader. His experience in the Refinery includes Six Sigma project development and execution, reliability engineering and equipment strategy development. Derrick has also been the site measurement coordinator, the training leader for the Refinery and is currently the Site Infrastructure Manager. Derrick is a passionate volunteer in the community with United Way, Men as Allies and is a frequent presenter at ASQ‐Edmonton.

Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean VOC Blue Belt and Project Management have added to her toolbelt for developing a quality environment. Post Secondary instructor of Lean Six Sigma and Project Management. Over 15 years of training, coaching, and public speaking experience add to the enhancement of your business improvements and/or conference. She has served on the ASQ (American Society for Quality) Edmonton Board for 4 years and belongs to ASQ Lean. Projects areas include Retail/Service, Pharmacy, Office, Government and Warehouses. Outside of work she enjoys basketball, kayaking, camping and community events volunteering.
